Railroad Doll (UGRR)

In 1858 Eliza is 14 years old. She is sold in St. Louis, MO to a slave trader from Nebraska City. She longs to be free. Using the Underground Railroad, she escapes across the Missouri River to Percival, Iowa. She stays in safe houses in Tabor, Lewis, Stuart, Des Moines and Grinnell. This doll is 19 inches, comes with story book, carries her shoes and food in a tater bag and has a crayon and bible in her pocket.

Donated to the Hitchcock House, Lewis, Iowa; and Jordon House, West Des Moines, Iowa.
